My Go To Breakfast: Smoothie Bowl

Since becoming a vegetarian I've been spending a lot of time searching Pinterest for healthier food options. Something I've been meaning to make for a while is a smoothie bowl, and once I made it for the first time I was hooked. It's such an easy way to get your fruit and veg in before 10 o'clock, and it tastes so goooood. Am I the only one who feels like a total goddess whenever I eat something healthy?

To make the smoothie you can add anything you like, this is what I use:

  • Half an avocado
  • 1 Kiwi
  • A handful of spinach
  • Half a banana
I then blend it all together with a tiny amount of water, just to make it easier to blend, whilst keeping the smoothie thick enough. (If it isn't a thick smoothie it's quite difficult to eat) I then pour it into a bowl and add my toppings. Here are some topping suggestions:
  • Granola
  • Strawberries
  • Raspberries
  • Blueberries
  • Banana
  • Chia Seeds
  • Yogurt
  • Mango
  • Coconut
I topped mine with granola, strawberries, raspberries, banana and chia seeds. It tasted amazing, and was surprisingly very filling! I hope you give this a go, enjoy!

2015 Favourites

Hi everyone! Today I thought I'd share my favourite products from 2015. Yes, I know 2015 was a while ago, in fact, I'm not sure if it's still socially acceptable to say happy new year (it probably definitely isn't)... I haven't posted here since last year so I'll say it anyway...

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you guys had a great Christmas and start of 2016...and Easter. Anyway, on with the post.

1. Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm

This product is my holy grail. I am OBSESSED, and all my friends can tell you this, probably paired with a roll of the eyes as I'm always talking about just how obsessed I am with this lip balm. I've suffered with chapped lips for years. No matter what time of year it is or how much water I drink, they always seem to be dry. I've gone through all of the different products: Baby Lips, Nivea, Carmex etc... Baby Lips made them a lot worse, and Nivea and Carmex only offered short term help. Although Burt's Bees hasn't permanently fixed the problem, I've still noticed a huge difference in my lips. They no longer look like I've been on holiday in the Sahara Desert. The greatest thing about this brand is that all of their products are made with natural ingredients which means you're not putting random chemicals on your body, and it's cruelty free. Everyone wins!

2. Nivea Moisturiser

In the winter I get dry patches of skin on my face which makes wearing makeup very difficult. I had never really bothered with moisturising my face before I started wearing makeup so when my skin started being problematic I wasn't sure what to do. I found a small, sample pot of Nivea moisturiser in a drawer that I was given at Christmas and as soon as I finished it I went out and bought the full sized tub. It seems to instantly fix my dry patches and the best part: it's super cheap. The tub is quite big and has lasted me over a year, and it was only a few pounds. It also acts as a great base before applying makeup and it dries quite tacky.

3. Palmers Cocoa Butter Shampoo and Conditioner

This shampoo and conditioner is the best thing to ever happen to my hair (apart from my discovery of coconut oil). First of all, it contains cocoa butter. Not only is this proven to make your hair soft and luscious and beautiful, it also smells AMAZING. In fact, the song Chocolate by the 1975 was written about me after I used it for the first time. I wish. It claims to repair damaged hair and although most companies who say this are lying, it's definitely held back a few split ends whilst making my hair shinier and softer. The only downside to this product is that it's not available anywhere locally in store so I have to order it online. Not fun when you completely run out and have to wait 3 days for delivery.

4. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

I was told that this mascara would change my life. Too Faced say that it gives you 1,944% longer lashes and gorgeous curl and volume. I'm going to be honest with you... I don't think it's that great. Don't get me wrong, I still love his mascara and obviously I love it enough to include it in my favourites. But, it wasn't as great as everyone makes it out to be, and I certainly wouldn't put it at a £19 value. However, my lashes are haters. My friends walk round with lashes as long as their arms, curled up to their eyebrows, and fanning out like a... fan. And then there's me. My lashes clump together and go spidery and gross when I wear most mascaras. And the BTS mascara is the only one that hasn't done that. I've tried lash sensational and countless other drugstore mascaras and I'm pretty sure it's just because of the plastic wands. My lashes look gorgeous when I use a feathery one like the BTS mascara, but I'm not blown away by the length, curl or volume. My lashes look how I'd expect a £6 mascara to look. Basically, this is my favourite mascara because it's the only one that works. And I love it for that, I just wish it was a bit cheaper. If you have any suggestions on cheaper mascaras with a similar wand please let me know!

These were a few of my favourites from last year. I still have many more to write about but I'll save them for later posts. Hope you enjoyed the read!
